Trinity sits on the corner of North and Buckeye street in downtown Wooster. We are able to operate based on the generosity of our members and friends. Throughout our 200+ years, many faithful givers have given their time, talents, and treasures to help make our church what it is today.
Each year we have an annual Stewardship drive where our members and friends pledge their time, talent, and treasures for the upcoming year. Members and friends can donate to Trinity in a variety of ways: offering plate during worship, mail, in the church office and electronic giving. Some give weekly and others give once a year.
Do Something for Stewardship
As a part of the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015, people over the age of 70 1/2 are able to make a tax-free direct donation from their IRA to Trinity. This means that you can use your IRA funds to cover your Trinity pledge without incurring income taxes. In the link below is a copy of the Wells Fargo QCDs fact sheet for more information. Please see Phil Starr or Jack Senn if you have any questions.
Your Endowment Program consists of three funds: Ministries, Properties and Missions. At this point, all of our funds are in the Ministries Fund. Endowment Funds are invested according to guidelines in a combination of equity holdings, fixed securities and bank accounts. Each year, 5 % of the balance is available to spend for new ministries.
As our fund grows, the allowable spending increases to a maximum of 9% to insure that the funds will be used to benefit our Church programs. Any unspent portion of this allowable spending is carried over and added to the new allowance for the next year.
Trinity is pleased to offer an electronic option for making regular offering. Offering for almost 10 years! Contributions can now be debited automatically from your checking or savings account (or processed using your credit or debit card). Our electronic giving program offers convenience for you and much needed donation consistency for our congregation. The donation schedule is on the 5th and 20th of the month. You can sign up for one time per month on either date or have your donation split and taken out both times.
If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year or prepare 52 envelopes. And, when travel, illness or other circumstance prevent you from attending services, this program will allow your weekly offerings to continue on an uninterrupted basis.
Twice per month - 5th and 20th
